Nine Easy Steps to Share your Genius using Mind Maps

Sharing“Infinitely more important than sharing one’s material wealth is sharing the wealth of ourselves – our time and energy, our passion and commitment, and, above all, our love.”

- William E. Simon, former Secretary of Treasury, businessman & philanthropist

What’s the best way to share your maps, or as you read above, the wealth of ourselves, with others?

The process of creating your maps with Mindjet can be a liberating and ecstatic experience.

Your maps reflect your individual and team vision, thoughts, ideas, plans, dreams, etc…

Everyone who participated in the map’s creation is ready to take the journey from inspiration to realization.

With Mindjet Catalyst and the new release of MindManager 8 for Windows, it’s now easier than ever before to share your genius and passion with other stakeholders via email or over 150 social networks.

Empower Your Maps with Power Markers

Proposal_00_090916Use Map Markers well and you’ll find the value of your mapping increase exponentially.

One way to start realizing the potential of map markers is through a new add-in called “Power Markers for MindManager“. (Note: This add-in works with both MindManager 7 and 8 for Windows.)

Power Markers let you more easily keep track of important things that get lost deep within your larger maps. It does this by providing a complementary view of your map’s markers in the MindManager task pane window. You can either view an automatic roll-up of your markers or a ‘hot list’ of topics organized by your markers. Read the rest of this entry »

Shape Shifting with MindManager

Visually enhance and tranform your maps with custom topic shapes!

I’m excited for my own transformation. Today, I’m working in Mindjet’s office. All of next week, I’ll be Scuba diving in Curacao, a beautiful island off the coast of Venezuela. I’ll miss you all, I will!

Before I sign off the Mindjet Blog for a week, I wanted to share a couple of events that inspired me to create some new transformative, shape-shifting map templates.

The first event occurred during my men’s group meeting on Wednesday night. One of my friends was sharing a painful experience that he was having in his relationship with his girlfriend. When he asked for support, I demonstrated a mapping technique he could use to visually lay out his feelings to better understand himself and his relationship. He is still pretty new to mind mapping but was really excited to see that it wasn’t just a business productivity technique; he could use it to enrich his life and relationships. Build it once, reuse it forever!

Save setup time and build a consistent approach to mapping by sharing your custom map markers across different maps and team.

Once you’ve learned how to add, rename, or remove text and icon markers, you’ll quickly realize that it isn’t something that you want to do for every map. Don’t worry though, you don’t have to!

Take a step back and look at the types of maps that you commonly create. Are they meeting maps? project maps? problem solving or strategy maps? If you use the same type of map often, build a template of markers that you can apply to default maps or your map templates.

Follow the steps below to setup reusable marker lists or apply saved lists to maps. Read the rest of this entry »
