Excited users of our new iPhone app, Mindjet for iPhone, have contacted me on our blog and through social media (e.g. @Mindjet or @MichaelDeutch on Twitter), to get clarification on how to transfer files between your mobile device and MindManager on your desktop/laptop computers.
The instructions can be found below or in our FAQ post. This transfer process works for both the PC and Mac…
How to Send an Mindjet for iPhone/iPod Touch Map to your PC or Mac:
- Ensure that both your iPhone/iPod touch and laptop/desktop have Wi-Fi switched on and are both connected to the same network.
- Launch Mindjet on your iPhone or iPod Touch and select the ‘Transfer’ button at the bottom left of the main screen.
- While the transfer window is still displayed on your iPhone/iPod touch, launch your computer’s web browser and enter the exact URL displayed at the top of the iPhone/iPod screen into computer’s browser address field (e.g. it looks like: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:nnnnn).
- Select from the list of your iPhone/iPod’s maps are displayed.
- Right click on the desired map’s MindManager link and select ‘save as’.
- After downloading the map, it will have a “.xml” tag at the end of it, delete this tag so that the file name is just “____.xmmap”
- Open your map with MindManager.

Productivity Tip: Simplify this process by using ‘Bonjour‘. Bonjour lets you automatically connect your mobile device with your desktop, eliminating the need to type URL’s each time you want to connect and exchange data between your computer and your mobile device. Mac users must activate Bonjour and Window’s users can download Bonjour for free from Apple’s site.

I just purchased the app online but when it loads, it crashes within a second or so of the main screen loading.
I’m running 3.1.2 on a Jailbroken iPhone 3g.
I have to jailbreak so that I can unlock when I work in Canada and the U.S.
What can I do to get the app running?

Dear Michael Deutch :
Thank You!
I have already solve my problem by myself with changing the wireless encryption mode from WPA2 to WEP.

Hey BA,
The problem you’re experiencing is a bug in the software that will be addressed in the Mindjet for iPhone 1.1 release. All files downloaded from the app will have a .xml tag at the end of it. Please remove it and it should work.
Best,
Albert Wang

Sorry about that, for one reason or another my response didn’t go thru, I think firefox crashed and then I got caught on another task! I had replied that I do not sync the iPhone with a Mac. It’s best to report it to our support team here: http://www.mindjet.com/support/overview
I’ll also ping our product manager to see if he has anything to add…

I’m able to upload to the MAC – but the iPhone files aren’t readable on my MAC either…
XML Processing Error
“Unable to transform a file into a MindManager document”
Fix Required Urgently Please..
Otherwise useless piece of software.
If this is not going to work, how do people organise a refund?

I’m able to download and upload – but the files that open up on my MAC aren’t readable – so this essentially is non-compatible with the most recent Mac Mindjet version.
Sad.

When selecting “TRANSFER” Mindjet for iPhone refuses to recognise my WiFi network. Tried rebooting iPhone and Router. Nothing wrong with my Wifi it’s worked for all other apps for months. iPhone is even recognized by Bonjour (XP/IE). Anyone else having this problem?

Please please please include the possibility to work on maps which are stored on the mobile.me idisk.
So you don’t need to send them arround but just work on the same file on your idisk.
