First, let me apologize for any inconvenience caused by Snow Leopard issues with MindManager 7. Mindjet is committed to the Mac platform and we will be releasing an update to MindManager 7 to work with Snow Leopard by September 15th.
Now, for some very promising news about MindManager 8 for Mac.
The Mindjet team has been hard at work finalizing the details to launch our latest update to MindManager, MindManager 8 for Mac! It’s been a long-time coming and our team is very excited.
I’m personally engaged and excited as well. I’ve had to start using a Mac for the first time in my career to better understand the power and capabilities of this release. And, I’m pretty sure you’re going to be excited too. It’s taking a large step forward in capabilities.
Here’s a preview of what I’ll be writing about in the coming weeks:
-
Integration with iWork’s Pages & Keynote
-
Integration with iCal, Address book, iChat, iPhoto, & MobileMe
-
Microsoft integration with Entourage, Word, PowerPoint, Document Connection, Office Live, and SharePoint
-
Multi-touch Gesture Support
-
Plus a few surprises you’ll hear about in future posts!
Stay tuned for weekly announcements as we get closer to launch.

Hi,
PC user that went to Mac. MM favourite application, bought the Mac version from the same reseller that sold me the windows version. They knew me but didn´t tell me about the differences. Had a big fight, because I didn´t want to pay for the poor mac-version (finally paid). Question: Will Mac 8 have the same features as the PC-version? Today I run the PC-version on my mac (VM-Ware). I really, really wait for getting rid of everything that reminds me of windows. Please tell me I can through MM8 för windows and buy the new Mac MM. Peter

Price estimates? are they near the prices of Version 7? Surely you can give a rough estimate by now.

Miles,
As mentioned in the previous comment, in November we updated our plans and communicated it here on our blog.

We’re now planning our release for the end of January prior to MacWorld 2010.
Thanks!

Q3 has come and gone. November has come and gone. Will you please be straight with your customers and give them real release dates?

BK, we announced here on the blog that we shifted our plans mid-november to incorporate more development time to ensure quality and address some issues identified during our beta testing. Our updated plan is to release this in January prior to Macworld 2010.
Thanks,
MIchael

Ona, you have a right to be frustrated, I hear you.
I apologize. Obviously I wish to have it out there today too. However, in my (close to) 3 years at Mindjet, I can report that I’m actually very, very pleased that the team is taking the time to do it right.
Mindjet has been making many investments in (some great) people and technologies to improve how we plan, build, and deliver products so we can do this better for years to come! Will we execute perfectly? Probably not. Will we make mistakes along the way? Most definitely.
All that said, I’m really excited about Mindjet’s future. And, for the opportunity to work with and help our customers tackle, map out, and solve problems and deliver projects that will improve our world and lives!
Again, I apologize on behalf of Mindjet for the delay. We’re committed to the Mac platform and will continue to grow it for you and our other customers.

Now we’re being told JANUARY 2010!!!
Is it time to give up? We’ve been waiting years, repeat, years to get close to Windows.
There are so many new programs hitting the market, are you not worried?

Can you please let me know if the Mac version will have the same functionality as version 8 on the windows platform? Currently they are worlds apart. Also, is the pricing going to jump up with version 8?

Miles, I wasn’t given the OK to publish any dates! We’re shooting to finalize the release and bring it to market this month. Sorry I can’t be more specific at this time. I’ll post it here and we’ll have a press release and update on Mindjet.com when we officially launch.

I’m very happy that Mindjet is smart enough to delay release when the code isn’t ready. This behavior will keep me a loyal customer. Trust is important and I look closely at quality. MindManager 7 for Mac isn’t as functional as the PC version (of which I have used) but it is solid. I’m glad that I can expect the same high quality.
Bravo Mindjet

Sorry for the delay! We’ve built some cool new features into MindManager 8 and the technical wizardry required some extra cycles of development and testing. We’ll be releasing in November!
