Visually I like searchme and searchcube, but kartoo.com allows me to dig and customize my search so I get better results. I guess the best one depends on the content you are looking for, if is photos the screenshots /no text are better search engines. If you need image - reference -text, something like katoo or mindjet software is better.

Catherine...too much info? I should have just presented a map :)

Newt - I think Viewzi and SearchMe have potential. Viewzi's selection of search type could be radically (and easily) improved. I found Tag Galaxy unique from an eye-candy and experience perspective. TouchGraph is nice in theory but could be more usable and visually appealing (Like LivePlasma).

I think you'd like the possibilities of Qwiji's webshow.

Overall, I haven't found anything that satisfies my needs. I'd be excited to see rich visual representations of results, easy navigation and ability to arrange the contents, ability to filter dynamically to redefine information, save and annotate results, and finally, the ability to 'map' results to categorize / organize by relevant attributes.

Some of this could be achieved with MindManager 8 today. Over time, the ability to discover information on the web, your desktop, and enterprise applications will be greatly expanded. You'll be able to find content, see the relationships, reorganize it, and expand the results with your own notes, ideas, and insights.

Mike,
Very cool. But, what are your top 5?
I need to start somewhere and will never get through all of them.

This is all good information, however, the post was too long for me to comprehend it all. My eyes glazed over after just three. I wish you would have chunked it down into eatable bites.
