Gyronix joins BlawgThink
Oct 27
We just learned that Nick Duffill and Nik Tipler’s company, Gyronix–which creates ResultsManager–will also support BlawgThink. Each BlawgThink attendee will recieve a copy of ResultsManager — in addition to MindManager Pro 6.
ResultsManager is a great tool that essentially provides a particular methodology for using MindManager. One very nice feature is the way it sweeps through all your maps and consolidates all the to-be-done topics into one map. And it has been heralded by the likes of the New York Times as one of the best ways to implement David Allen’s "Getting Things Done" methodology.
BlawgThink promises to be a very interesting event–made all the more interesting with the addition of Nick’s great piece of technology!
Mindjet is excited to announce the first "Powered by MindManager" conference. BlawgThink 2005, to be held Nov. 11-12 in Chicago, will be the first large conference to use MindManager as its central organizing principle. Breakout sessions will be run with MindManager, conference "scribes" will take notes in MindManager, the main conference room will feature a large map of all the thinking going on, and there will be presentations on using MindManager in the legal field. The event organizers plan to use MindManager’s External Linker" (available for free in the Mindjet Labs) to instantly pull information from the breakout sessions into the main conference map. And they have a lot more ideas in mind on using MindManager to create the perfect conference environment.
If you have any interest in how MindManager can be used in the legal arena, this one conference will probably tell you more in two days than you would learn in two months. Go to the BlawgThink site for more information on this first-ever "Powered by MindManager" event as the date gets nearer.
And please let us know if you have any thoughts on how MindManager can help improve the value and quality of conferences. Think of BlawgThink as a bit of a test lab for using MindManager to build the perfect large interactive event. How would you do it?
We’re sponsoring the Chris Pirillo Show (a live podcast) Thursday, October 13, 2005 where he will be demonstrating Mindjet MindManager as he brainstorms the plans for Gnomedex 6. To participate in the live podcast between 6:00pm – 9:00pm Pacific, visit the Chris Pirillo Show.
Marc Orchant at theofficeweblog blogged today about a new book called "More Space–Nine Antidotes for Complacency in Business." Orchant wrote one chapter, called “Work is Broken”. "In it," Orchant says, "I talk about the ways technology has changed how business is done and how individuals and organizations have not yet properly adapted to the challenges these changes have wrought. E-mail is broken. Meetings are broken. PowerPoint presentations are broken."
Other contributors to "More Space" include:
Nice crew. Should be a good book–or not a book: It’s interesting that they offer it as a book for sale or a pdf, html or audio file for free. More at theofficeweblog.
Mapping and Coaching
Oct 4
I came across an interesting blog tonight by a Judith Morgan, the principal at DriveDance Coaching. She talks about how she was enrolled in a Coachville program with Dave Buck, the CEO who inherited Coachville from Thomas Leonard:
"The course is called Extreme Productivity and its pretty full on. We’ve done three hours on the phone this week alone and the course runs until November. By Day Three, Dave was inviting us to do mind mapping…Anyway, I downloaded something Dave recommended called Mind Manager from Mindjet …once I got this down on a mind map with the related subtopics, I got much clearer. "
I have run across a few coaches who have told me that mapping is a good fit for coaches, who help people get a better grip on what they are doing, not doing, want to do, need to do, or are doing too much of. But I had no idea that Dave Buck was actually pointing people to our software. Thanks for that, Dave!
I’d live to hear from other coaches out there using MindManager or other mapping tools/methods.
