Search for Information on MindManager With Your Personal Search Engine (”Rollyo”)

Rollyo

Have you heard about Rollyo? Rollyo is run by Yahoo! and a clever idea: The service allows you to create a so-called “Search Roll” – a personalized search engine that provides results from a hand selected collection of trusted sites on any given topic. Rollyo searches the sites that have been chosen by you or by other users who have created a Searchroll that you have saved or are just trying out. So you can create Searchrolls, save Searchrolls created by others or both. You can create and/or save as many Searchrolls as you want.

And here’s the interesting thing: Like Wikis, Searchrolls accumulate collective knowledge – but knowing that true power lies less in owning information than in knowing how to find  information, it lets you build and draw from collective knowledge on searching. It allows you not only to tap into specific pools of expertise but also to know how to get there. It is – if you will – peer-to-peer collaborative searching.

For example, if you want to search for specific information, news, and updates on MindManager on sites that we here at Mindjet  recommend and trust, then use the “Mindjet Mindmanager” Searchroll I created (you need to log-in first). And maybe take it as a start, add more sites, and create your own, more comprehensive Searchroll for “Mindjet MindManager.”

Next week, let’s talk about how you can turn Searchrolls into MindManager maps….
