MindManager for Students
Mindjet is introducing a new Student Solutions page. Make sure to visit it at: http://www.mindjet.com/us/solutions/education/students.php?s=10&sn=1 for a closer look. This page was created to offer students the information they need to fully utilize MindManager in an academic setting. I’ve had the chance to see the direct benefits MindManager has had on a variety of college students. Students are currently using our tool for a number of activities such as:
- Note Taking
- Project Planning
- Paper Planning
- Group Project Collaboration
- Brainstorming
- Class Presentations
- Research
- Test Review
- Academic Coursework and Event Planning
- Information Organization
To start students off, we’ve created several templates focused on popular student uses of MindManager. One is listed as an example for you to download below and the rest can be found in the student map gallery section of the Student Solutions page or in the main Mindjet Map Gallery, in the near future.
Let this page be a forum for you or the student(s) in your life who would like to have an edge in the academic world. The potential benefits for students include (but certainly aren’t limited to): reducing test preparation time, becoming more organized and efficient in information organization, discovering a place to store a variety of documents on one screen and providing visual learners with a non linear vehicle for creativity and productivity.
Whether you are a student already using MindManager or discovering it for the first time, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to share your experiences with MindManager: how you first heard about it, how you are using it, how we can enhance your user experience and any requests you may have for additional resources or map templates.

Enjoy!

Nice post, Gaelen. Mindjet recently interviewed a U.C.L.A. Law School professor who runs all of his classes in MindManager. He said student response to his mapped-out lectures has been very good, and noted that the maps are particularly useful for making very complex subjects (and what could be more complex that the U.S. legal system?) much more understandable. He said he is seeing the use of MindManager start to spread in law schools across the country.

I have had my kids using maps for years to plan out, and use in researching, their papers. They continue to use the program in college. I only wish I had this tool when I was young!
