Keeping Floating Topics Free

Technorati Tag(s): — July 21, 2005 @ 10:01 am

A user just asked me how to keep floating topics from becoming attached to the main map as you move them around — and especially closer to – the map. If you use ALT + Shift as you move the floating topic, it will not connect to the map (as it otherwise will do if you move it near the map).

ALT + Shift can be difficult, but Shift works just as well

Don’t you only need to use Shift and not Alt shift?

    Colin, Trevor–
Thanks. I stand corrected. Someone showed it to me once with both keys. Works fine with just Shift. This puts a new spin on Customer Service (in which the customer provides the service! :>)
    Thanks again, guys.

    Dear Hobie:
    Thank you for sharing this!

    This has long frustrated me.

How many other “tips” do you have hidden away? How about a Tip Booklet?

    Hi Roger,

I’m glad you brought this up…

In MindManager, go to the Learning tab located along the task pane (very bottom tab). In this tab, you will find X5 release notes, keyboard shortcuts, a map titled “Tips and Tricks”, and a guide for using Smart Map Parts.

Happy Mapping and thanks for using MindManager!!
