The Mindjet Blog

How Our Blog Travels Through The Blogosphere

Technorati Tag(s): , — March 30, 2005 @ 11:31 am

We launched this blog last Friday, and it is exciting to see this conversation growing so dynamically. To date though, at least to my knowledge, there has been no systematic way to find out who in the blogoshere is talking about you and where and when.

Enter BlogPulse’s Conversation Tracker, which is, if you will, a search engine for blog conversations. The Conversation Tracker allows you to enter a URL and then provides you with a snapshot of how your word is spreading through the blogosphere. I have to admit I have no idea how comprehensive and accurate this tool is, but at first glance it is fascinating. I tried it for the Mindjet blog and then copied the list I got into a MindManager map:

With MindManager you can get the "big picture" view of how your blog travels through the blogosphere, and you can also easily grasp how all the blogs that refer to yours are interconnected. Which brings us to MindManager and Social Networks, a discussion Michael Scherotter has started. Or using MindManager for RSS feeds. Whether you’re tracking or creating content - Mindjet is the interface for the Generation C.

Tim, this is great. Can you make the image clickable so we can see an enlarged version?

Thanks for the feedback. We will enlarge the image and make it clickable so that the visual look becomes more visual.

Kudos to Meredith who coined the term “inter-blog dialogue” (actually, it’s a multilogue :) - this is indeed a very interesting new form of communication.
